StaffSafe product introduced for lone worker protection
Safetell have been appointed distributors of the StaffSafe system that uses audio technology and fixed line telephony to provide high quality, dual direction speech between the protected premises and a dedicated call centre.
StaffSafe is a covert audio monitoring system. Trained call centre staff to be alerted by an alarm activation and then react appropriately:
• to reassure staff that help is on its way
• to give a high volume audio deterrent to attackers
• to provide recorded audio evidence for possible prosecutions
• to summon police or other emergency service response
StaffSafe monitors premises for the health and safety of staff, including lone worker environments at start, end and during shifts, and can provide “man-down” alarms and audio verification of intruder alarms.
s soon as an alarm trigger is activated the system opens a two-way communication path between the protected premises and the dedicated call centre. The call centre to premises audio channel is muted initially so that the call centre can monitor and assess the situation covertly before intervening.
The dedicated call centre staff are trained in response handling and have access to all emergency service despatch centres and local police stations throughout the UK to make the emergency call and to provide real-time information to assist the response teams.
The call centre disables the mute in order to talk to staff on the premises to tell ask questions, to tell them that assistance is on its way and, when appropriate, give high-volume deterrent messages to attackers.
In lone-worker situations, the system is in passive mode and is activated if the PIR detects no movement for a period of time, indicating a “man-down” situation.
Monitoring can be timed automatically to suit shift patterns so that “First-man-in” and “Lastman-out” can report their safe arrival/ departure with alarms created in the absence of a correct report.
Intruder alarm system outputs can be connected to StaffSafe to trigger audio monitoring and recording when an alarm is activated for independent alarm verification and gathering potentially valuable evidence.
